I‘m Lucy, and I‘m the founder of Supportive Stories. My role encompasses everything from strategic planning to hands-on client work – I provide business support services for education and family-focused businesses, as well as direct support for families navigating transitions and challenges.

I needed someone who could help me make sense of my business, not just build a pretty website. I was looking for a designer who would listen properly and help me articulate what I was actually offering – because I knew I needed that clarity myself before I could communicate it to potential clients.

Flexibility was important too, as was finding someone who understood that this needed to be a collaborative process, not just a template solution.

The challenge:

When we began Lucy’s project, our focus was on creating a warm, welcoming website that reflected their ethos: compassionate, credible, and clear.

Just as importantly, it needed to tell the story of Supportive Stories in a way that resonated with people navigating life’s tougher chapters, whether in family life or in business.

My main goals were to create a professional presence that would attract the right clients, help potential clients understand my services more clearly, and – crucially – create something that could scale with me as the business grows.

I’ve absolutely achieved these goals. The website has given me somewhere legitimate to direct people, and the process of building it helped me refine my thinking enormously. Potential clients now understand my services much better before we speak, which means our initial conversations are more focused and productive.

The results:

Lucy actually won her website through our yearly Christmas Giveaway, which made the project even more special.

Not only did she gain a platform to showcase her work, but she also gained a digital home that truly embodied her mission.

The process was genuinely collaborative and much more valuable than I‘d anticipated. It wasn‘t just about building a website – it became a process of refining my entire business proposition. Richard was brilliant at taking me through the process, providing really helpful prompts, frameworks and advice during calls throughout the project.
