As part of national trainline operator London Midland’s internal campaigns, we developed some collateral to support two initiatives that were rolled out over the summer.
The first campaign – ‘The Big Breakfast’ was to increase engagement with staff and the management teams, by way of an informal brunch that staff could use to air their views and meet the managers. We steered the design away from their typical ‘corporate’ internal comms with more approachable creative.
We reworked the copy, developing the ‘chew and chat’ headline and wrote the rest of the copy to suit. We also suggested the poster could work as a way of logging the participants, to ensure there were enough butties to go round!
The second campaign worked off the back of the Chew & Chat creative – pushing the look and feel from the Big Breakfast campaign across to freshen up the internal comms across the board. The brief was quite open – essentially they wanted a postcard that informed the staff of their long running ‘Back to the Tracks’ initiative which brought managers back to the ‘shop floor’, with a message from their Managing Director.
We enhanced the concept to ‘win your selfie an iPad’, which incentivised staff engagement with a bit of fun, delivered in a traditional postcard format.
